Dressing for my fantasy life

Ladies, Boho Trinity has brought along some friends and she’d like to introduce them…

Yukiko Kato spends her days running around pixellated Neo Tokyo collecting materiel, slaughtering mutants and eating first aid kits. Sometimes she thinks there must be more to life than this, but then she doesn’t know she’s a character in a computer game, poor thing.

Antoinette Wolfsbane runs the youth LGBTQ drop-in centre on Diagon Alley. A former Slytherin head of house, some doubt her suitability as mentor for vulnerable wizarding teens. Few, however, deny her bravery as a sleeper agent in the battle against He Who Shall Not Be Named. (She has no trouble naming him, but mention Bellatrix Lestrange and she’ll most likely hex you.)

Tatiana SmithKline Beecham owns the last independent record shop in Soho, through which she launders cash for the Russian mafiya. Refuses to believe the neighbourhood has shot its bolt and that Shoreditch is now the place to be. Once played Hugh Grant’s quirky flatmate in a Richard Curtis rom com nobody can remember. Voted Leave.

Ellen Roberta Doolittle is one of an unknown number of women to have held the title of Dread Pirate Roberts, a position she inherited from Inigo Montoya when he left to join the CIA. Her favourite pillaging destination is the Cornish coast, where she enjoys drinking scrumpy, looting tin mines and stalking Ross Poldark.

I think I just bought a magic coat. This is far too easy. kkards, what was that about workhorses?

Hilarious. The post, not the coat. The coat is awesome on you.

  • Nomad replied 6 years ago

    O. M. G. That coat is perfection on you, in every persona. And yet, despite the fantasies, it also looks entirely wearable and not a bit like a costume. It just looks like it belongs on you.

The coat is awesome.  I like all the iterations.

  • Mary Beth (formerly LBD) replied 6 years ago

I think maybe this post should be "Live Your Fantasy Life".   Love the outfits!   I hope you channel these characters when you wear the outfits!

    I love that coat.

  • Katerina replied 6 years ago

Wow! Your post is quite something
Ellen Roberta Doolittle is a lady who knows how to dress, she looks awesome! Youkiko does not look that shabby either. Lol.

On the serious note - the piece is perfect in every sense and you look fabulous. Enjoy such a great piece!

That is some coat!  It will take you everywhere no problem.  Magical.  Definitely a workhorse.  Makes a statement but not pushy.  I love that.

  • JAileen replied 6 years ago

Definitely magic. All are fab. But I love Ellen Roberta Doolittle's outfit. (I don't know how many times I've seen the movie, it's my husband's favorite. Let's say at least 25 times.)

  • Suz replied 6 years ago

Hilarious, but also proof positive that this is going to be a serious workhorse. Fills a hole you didn't know you had, right? Solves a million problems. The only mystery at this point is how your wardrobe even functioned without this coat.

You said scrumpy! I love it when people say scrumpy! :)

These are great outfits with the new acquisition!

  • Angie replied 6 years ago

You know you need your own TV show, right Liz

  • Kathie replied 6 years ago

The coat is amazing, and the fantasy lives are brilliant.

  • Runcarla replied 6 years ago

With a hoodie under, you could give Ramona Victoria Flowers - ninja delivery person for Amazon and avoider of the 7 evil ex-boyfriends - a run for her money.

  • Bijou replied 6 years ago

Yes I will definitely tune into your TV show. I think that magical coat has only just got you started...

  • Jaime replied 6 years ago

I would like to have tea with Antoinette first, and take the occasion to get a better look at her fabulous jeans and shoes. I already love her coat. I was once roomies with Tatiana and buy lettuce from Ellen. Ellen always does have the best boots. I am afraid I am Yukiko's hermit sister, alas.

  • approprio replied 6 years ago

Thanks all! Yeah, it's a pretty excellent addition. So many possibilities. I wonder how long it would take before I ran out of personae. Suz: you are so, so right. I think we may have discovered something important about workhorses this week.

    Angie, Bijou,
haha yeah, if I can stay focused for long enough. One of my friends has been trying to talk me into a vlog, but I have a poison eye for selfie sticks. Unless I can co-opt a camera crew it will probably never happen :P

Runcarla:  can't believe you found an even more obscure pop culture reference than The Princess Bride!! Wasn't sure if anyone would get that, but JAileen, it's a great movie. Gets better every time.

shevia, yeah, we've probably all met a Tatiana or two. She is everywhere. Antoinette is putting the kettle on right now.

Love this post, so please live them all!!!:-) but my fave in therms of dressing here is

    Ellen Roberta Doolittle.

  • cindysmith replied 6 years ago

I love how your creativity and imagination permeate both your outfits AND your writing!

  • Janet replied 6 years ago

Love it! But your fantasy life also has a fab style that translates so well to REAL life! That jacket is marvelous, and I love all your stylings of it. Especially with the white, which is remarkable because I am kind of white shoe phobic. :-)

  • Angie replied 6 years ago

Get your friend to shoot video of you!

  • Bonnie replied 6 years ago

Your coat is inspiring not only outfits but whole backstories of characters who wear it. It's truly a magic coat. Fun read!

  • LaPed replied 6 years ago

omg, these are wonderful. can't pick a favourite.

  • approprio replied 6 years ago

Y'all, I'm a bit surprised Ellen Roberta is getting so much love, because of all of them she feels the most like pastiche. Then again, the combination fell out of the wardrobe very easily IYKWIM.

Janet I used to feel the same, but it only takes one pair and I guarantee you'll be converted. Angie, I'll see what we can do...
