WIW/WIB: pyjama samurai

Can't resist a quick post to show off the new score. I was torn between saving these for Christmas and busting them out straight away, but in the end I cut the tags and wore them anyway.

I was pretty sure they'd work, but I'm surprised by how many styling options I have. Today I've gone full Harajuku after one of my personal style icons, the lovely lady who sold me the sneakers. It wasn't deliberate, but now I notice I've somehow ended up with her hair colour.

I tamed the wide legs with detachable straps from another pair of boots, which makes for practical, comfortable day wear, fine for mucking about in the studio and meeting friends later. I'll probably style them over the party season as wide legs with platform heels and a maximal blazer.

Comments appreciated, even to tell me I look sloppy :D

    Very fun pattern & colors!

The trousers sit (and fit) you to a T, Liz. And how deliciously maximal are they paired with that fun coat! Really like how they look with the white sweater (love the pocket detailing).

Yay! I was hoping you'd show us how you were planning on wearing those pants.  I love the idea of the detachable straps to change the silhouette of the pants.  The white top and sneakers are a great way to show off the maximal pants.  Also, you look so good in the hat - I look terrible in baseball caps.

    I LOVE them!

These are totally YOU! What a great purchase, so much fun. Love how you are wearing them. With the coat, the faux fur almost looks like a fun tail.....

This is such a fun and cool look! What fab trousers. You definitely deserve to cut the tags and wear now. Why not? Enjoy!

Those are fantastic pants. I like the way you've adjusted the bottom hem this time. You're so very clever at this - I don't think you could ever look sloppy!

cheers ladies! I am loving these pants (and so did my friends) but I can't quite shake the feeling that I've left the house in my pyjamas.

Inge, bj1111, the sweatshirt is Uniqlo. It's excellent. I can't find it on their website as product, but there are still pictures of it on their splash pages, so it may be back in stock next summer. I'll keep an eye out and review it if it comes up again.

Suz: heh yeah, and with the teddy fur hat I feel like some kind of cuddly toy, or maybe a giant baby. There's something subversively liberating about that ;)

UmmLila, and you totally swung it for me! I don't think I was quite committed until you said so in the other thread, but I'm very pleased I went for it.

SaraL: I think a baseball cap is one of those things you need to get used to. I worked towards it from other peaked styles and I got this one to replace a favourite I lost somewhere. I was a bit doubtful to begin with, but I'm learning to love it.

Wow! You look really really good in these, and all your styling options work well. I didn't end up visiting my H&M because I have no idea how to style any of the pieces, but I greatly look forward to the fabbers do!

p.s. they do not look like pjs at all.

These pants are so you.  Very cool looking to me.  But bonus if they are comfy.

You have styled these pants perfectly. I love it with the shoes, glasses and hat. I also am jealous of how you can go from very tailored looks to these very baggy urban looks.
    Very inspirational.
